1990 VW Golf GTi G60 Edition One LHD

The G60 GTi is a rare car today and only a few still remain in the UK, this one was imported from Germany in 2001 by its former keeper.  The G60 is loosly based on the on the 1.8 8v Gti, but the chaps at VW were good enough to bolt on a supercharger (as found in the Corrado G60), which produced approx 150hp.  In addition the front track is slightly wider, the fender extentions are more pronownced, 16v rear lights and clear indicators where fitted together with Sebring 15" Wheels.   Throughout the mkII production run various Wolfsburg specials were created; Fire and Ice, Blue Edition and this one which is an Edition One

The Edition One was painted in Dark Burgandy (a colour normally exclusive to the Corrado), fitted with 15" BBS RM Split rim alloys and equipped with electric Recaro front seats, Front electric windows and Chromoflex glass.

This particular example has been well looked after over the years, it has had some cosmetic paintwork, but on the whole the car is very straight, clean, accident and corrosion free. The Supercharger was overhauled by Jabbasport less than 10000 miles ago and it has been fitted with a smaller pulley (a very sensible modifcation), The car has just has just had a Bilstein B12 suspension kit and poly bushes fitted to give improved handling whilst still maintaining a comfortable ride.

A solid car that is entertaining to drive and usable everyday.. Good mkII Golfs are becoming increasingly hard to come by, and  a G60 even more so.
